After you’ve arranged delivery
Once you’ve done this, please make sure these 3 things are sorted before your car arrives.
- Get your ID ready
You’ll need photo ID (e.g. your driving licence or passport). If you don’t have your driving licence or if the address on it is different to the delivery address, then you’ll also need a utility bill/bank statement (less than 3 months old) that includes your name and current address
- Get your car insured
Your car must be insured before you can tax it.
- Get your car taxed
Head to gov.uk/vehicle-tax with these 2 things to hand – the car’s registration number and its V5 document reference number (both will be in your confirmation email)
On delivery day – what happens?
On the pre-agreed day, a member of our delivery team will deliver your car to your home address. To help keep you safe, they’ll wear a face covering, have sanitised and stand at least 1m away from you wherever possible.
If you’re part exchanging a car
When a member of the delivery team arrives, they’ll:
- Check the car’s roadworthy (e.g. the battery is charged and there’s enough tyre tread), this could take up to 15 minutes see T’s & C’s Section 10 here.
- Make sure the MOT is valid
- Collect the car’s V5 log book from you. They’ll also ask you to visit DVLA to ‘Pass the car to trade’ (once you’re there you’ll need our address: T J Vickers, Trench Road, Trench, Telford, TF2 6PL)
- Ask you to check that you’ve removed all your personal belongings from the car
About your new car
When a member of the delivery team arrives, they’ll:
- Show you their ID and check your ID
- Show you the outside of your new car
- Show you the inside of your new car (fully sanitised)
- Ask you to sign for your new car (hands-free where possible)
Once everyone’s happy, they’ll leave you to enjoy your new car.
After delivery – ongoing peace of mind
We are sure you will be eager to take your new car out for a drive. Wherever you go, enjoy yourself and drive safely.
